How large can I print it?
The file is around 9,000 px on the long edge. That prints crisply to about 75 cm on the long edge at gallery quality, and to 130–170 cm at the distance you look at a picture over furniture. Sizes, paper and framing, in detail →
Which paper or surface?
Gold on dark grounds wants a matte or satin fine-art paper (200–310 gsm), or aluminium for humid rooms; glossy photo paper turns the black into a mirror. The pale works also take satin and baryta papers.
Which licence do I need?
Personal (€9.99) covers your own home and gifts. Any business or space open to the public — a spa, clinic, hotel, office, restaurant — needs the commercial licence (€99.99, one venue, no renewal). The venue guide →
The branch grows upward from the bottom edge almost vertically, then splits into a few slender sprays near the top. Its leaves are narrow and pointed, painted in deep olive and sage greens with fine light edges, and a few of them are gilded, so they flicker gold among the green. Two round olives, covered in gold leaf, hang just below the centre. Behind the upper half of the branch sits a large disc of pale gold leaf, its surface faintly mottled like the face of the moon. The disc does not fill the frame; it leaves a wide cream border of textured paper around it, so the picture breathes and the branch stands out clearly against the glow.
Moon-viewing, tsukimi, is an old autumn custom in Japan. People gather on clear nights to admire the full moon, often with grasses and seasonal food set out on a small table. In painting, a gold or silver disc behind a branch became shorthand for that quiet night mood. Here the branch is an olive rather than a pine or plum, so two traditions meet: the Mediterranean tree of peace and the Japanese moon of contemplation. The result fits rooms that mix pale plaster, linen and wood, where one strong natural motif matters more than many small ones. The vertical line of the branch also makes the picture feel taller and calmer than its size.
Its upright shape suits narrow walls, the space beside a window or above a bedside table. Ivory, linen, oat and pale olive walls give the gold disc its glow; a deep olive accent wall makes it dramatic. A light oak frame keeps it soft, a slim black frame turns it more graphic. A warm lamp in the evening makes the gold leaf come alive. Pair it with The Golden Olive Branch or with Cherry Blossom and the Gold Moon, which repeats the gold disc. The high-resolution file prints cleanly to about 91 cm on the long side at 300 dpi.
