Cherry Blossom and the Gold Moon — Samsung Frame TV art, 3840 × 2160
How large can I print it?

The file is around 9,000 px on the long edge. That prints crisply to about 75 cm on the long edge at gallery quality, and to 130–170 cm at the distance you look at a picture over furniture. Sizes, paper and framing, in detail →

Which paper or surface?

Gold on dark grounds wants a matte or satin fine-art paper (200–310 gsm), or aluminium for humid rooms; glossy photo paper turns the black into a mirror. The pale works also take satin and baryta papers.

Which licence do I need?

Personal (€9.99) covers your own home and gifts. Any business or space open to the public — a spa, clinic, hotel, office, restaurant — needs the commercial licence (€99.99, one venue, no renewal). The venue guide →

About this work

A thin dark branch enters from the bottom and climbs up through the centre of the picture. Along it open clusters of cherry blossoms, five-petalled flowers in very pale pink with deeper pink centres and fine stamens, and a few tight buds near the tip. Behind the upper half of the branch sits a big round disc of gold leaf, its surface streaked and crackled so that it shimmers in different directions like brushed metal. The disc is slightly off-centre, leaving more beige space on the right. The background is a smooth, warm beige with the faintest blush tone. The blossoms are rendered softly and realistically, which contrasts nicely with the flat, decorative gold.

Hanami, the custom of viewing cherry blossoms, has been part of Japanese life for over a thousand years. Each spring friends and families gather under the trees for the few days the flowers last, a reminder that beauty is brief and should be enjoyed together. The blossoms became one of the most loved subjects in Japanese art, often set against gold-leaf backgrounds on screens made for palaces and temples. This picture follows that tradition in a modern, minimal form: one branch, one gold disc, a pale ground. It is the most romantic work in the Japandi Gold collection and brings a soft touch of colour to otherwise neutral rooms.

Its gentle colours suit a bedroom, a dressing room or a feminine living room. Blush, cream, warm white and soft grey walls are ideal; it also works beautifully on pale sage, where pink and green complement each other. A thin brass or champagne frame matches the gold moon; light oak keeps it natural. Pair it with Olive Branch under a Gold Moon, which shares the gold disc, or with The Bonsai and the Golden Sun for a Japanese duo. At 300 dpi the file prints sharply to around 91 cm on its long side.
