ABOUT
RAGANA is my name.
Raul Gabriel Nagy. The studio is just my name, folded.
For a long time I couldn't feel my connection to anything. Not to nature, not to the people near me, not to myself.
I started on the outside and turned inward. Never in a straight line — always a spiral. Each turn carries me past the same things: the ones that shook me, the chaos I couldn't hold. They are still there. I pass them every time. They simply don't move me the way they used to.
The further in it goes, the more complex it becomes — and the more still. That is the strange part. Complexity and quiet arriving together.
The Fibonacci sequence is the shape that path had, so it became the thing I draw. Each work is one turn of it: the effort, the doubling back, the slow widening.
I don't understand what surrounds me, and I've stopped trying to. Now I try to appreciate it instead. These drawings are what appreciation looks like when I make it visible.

Outside, inward — past the same things, every turn.
For a wall you're responsible for.
Tell me the room and what you want it to feel like. I will send three works that fit, and a mock-up of each one in place.
