Golden Pampas — Samsung Frame TV art, 3840 × 2160
How large can I print it?

The file is around 9,000 px on the long edge. That prints crisply to about 75 cm on the long edge at gallery quality, and to 130–170 cm at the distance you look at a picture over furniture. Sizes, paper and framing, in detail →

Which paper or surface?

Gold on dark grounds wants a matte or satin fine-art paper (200–310 gsm), or aluminium for humid rooms; glossy photo paper turns the black into a mirror. The pale works also take satin and baryta papers.

Which licence do I need?

Personal (€9.99) covers your own home and gifts. Any business or space open to the public — a spa, clinic, hotel, office, restaurant — needs the commercial licence (€99.99, one venue, no renewal). The venue guide →

About this work

Three large pampas plumes fill the upper half of the picture, each one a feathery cloud of fine strands in wheat, beige and cream. They lean to the right as if a light breeze had just passed. Below them, thin blades of wild grass and a few dry stems rise from the bottom edge, crossing each other in loose, painterly strokes. The seed heads carry a delicate golden shimmer, strongest where the light hits the upper plume, so the picture glows softly rather than shines. The background is a plain warm ivory with a faint paper grain and no horizon, so the grasses seem to float. Everything is drawn with an airy, almost sketched lightness.

Pampas grass is native to the grasslands of South America, where it grows in great clumps along rivers and plains. Dried, its plumes keep their shape and colour for years, which is why they became a signature of boho and neutral interiors in the last decade. Japanese art has its own long love of grasses: autumn fields of susuki, a silver plume grass, appear on screens, kimonos and lacquer, often with a moon behind them. This picture sits between the two. It has the texture and warmth of a dried-flower arrangement and the restraint of an ink painting, with gold only as a hint of late afternoon light caught in the plumes.

Hang it above a sofa, a bed or a long sideboard, where its soft horizontal sweep can spread out. Cream, sand, beige and warm white walls are ideal; rattan, linen and light wood furniture complete the look. A natural oak, rattan-toned or thin white frame suits it best. It is especially lovely as a pair with Pampas in the Wind, and it also works next to Whispering Eucalyptus for a neutral gallery wall. The digital file stays sharp up to about 91 cm on its long side at 300 dpi.
