How large can I print it?

The print file is 7,680 × 4,320 px. That prints crisply to about 65 × 37 cm at gallery quality, and to about 130 × 73 cm at the distance you look at a picture over a sofa. Sizes, paper and framing, in detail →

Which paper or surface?

Gold on dark grounds wants a matte or satin fine-art paper (200–310 gsm), or aluminium for humid rooms; glossy photo paper turns the black into a mirror. The pale works also take satin and baryta papers.

Which licence do I need?

Personal (€9.99) covers your own home and gifts. Any business or space open to the public — a spa, clinic, hotel, office, restaurant — needs the commercial licence (€99.99, one venue, no renewal). The venue guide →

About this work

The Wildflower Meadow is a low summer meadow that runs across the whole width of the picture. Red poppies, blue cornflowers and white daisies rise from fine, feathery grasses, drawn in the manner of a vintage botanical engraving and washed with soft watercolour. Above them, a pale ivory sky leaves the flowers room to breathe.

Poppies, cornflowers and daisies were familiar wild flowers of European fields and field margins, and they appear again and again in the botanical plates and hand-coloured engravings of the 18th and 19th centuries. Those plates usually showed one plant at a time. This picture gathers the same species into a single scene, so the precise, engraved look of the old plates meets the loose abundance of a real meadow.

The print file is 7680 × 4320 px, about 65 cm wide at 300 dpi, a natural choice of landscape wall art above a sofa, bed or sideboard on white, ivory or soft blue walls. The separate 4K TV pack includes 3840 × 2160 for the Samsung Frame or any 4K art-mode TV, plus 2560 × 1440 and 1920 × 1080. On the TV, rotate it with Peony Garden in Gold for two seasons of flowers.
