The Robin Muse — Samsung Frame TV art, 3840 × 2160
How large can I print it?

The file is around 9,000 px on the long edge. That prints crisply to about 75 cm on the long edge at gallery quality, and to 130–170 cm at the distance you look at a picture over furniture. Sizes, paper and framing, in detail →

Which paper or surface?

Gold on dark grounds wants a matte or satin fine-art paper (200–310 gsm), or aluminium for humid rooms; glossy photo paper turns the black into a mirror. The pale works also take satin and baryta papers.

Which licence do I need?

Personal (€9.99) covers your own home and gifts. Any business or space open to the public — a spa, clinic, hotel, office, restaurant — needs the commercial licence (€99.99, one venue, no renewal). The venue guide →

About this work

A red-haired muse in a pale sage cloak holds a robin in both hands while snow falls around her. Behind her head glows a golden Art Nouveau halo. The copper of her hair and the red breast of the bird bring warmth into a palette of frost and cream, so the picture feels like a small fire on a cold day.

The image follows Alphonse Mucha's decorative panels of the four seasons from 1896, in which Winter is a woman wrapped in a cloak, sheltering a small bird from the cold. Mucha often placed his women before a round halo of ornament, and that device returns here in gold. The robin has its own Christmas story. In Victorian Britain, postmen wore red coats and were nicknamed robins, and the bird soon became a favourite on Christmas cards. The Robin Muse is a reimagining in gold, not a copy.

It is warmer than The Winter Muse, and the two hang well side by side as a pair, or with The Snowflake Reindeer as a set of three. On its own it suits a bedroom, a dressing room or a hallway. Cream, sage and soft white walls echo its colours, and the mood is gentle and festive without being loud. The file prints sharply to roughly 76 cm on the long edge at 300 dpi.
