DA VINCI REIMAGINED
The Helical Vault
Da Vinci Reimagined as Infinite Descent
A staircase drawn the way an engineer would draw it — one continuous helix falling through the page in iron-gall sepia, with the vault opened out around it and the figures left small enough to give it scale.
It is the quietest piece in the collection and the most architectural. Almost no colour, all line. It belongs on a pale wall where the drawing can be read rather than glanced at.
