Blossoming Gold — Samsung Frame TV art, 3840 × 2160
How large can I print it?

The file is around 9,000 px on the long edge. That prints crisply to about 75 cm on the long edge at gallery quality, and to 130–170 cm at the distance you look at a picture over furniture. Sizes, paper and framing, in detail →

Which paper or surface?

Gold on dark grounds wants a matte or satin fine-art paper (200–310 gsm), or aluminium for humid rooms; glossy photo paper turns the black into a mirror. The pale works also take satin and baryta papers.

Which licence do I need?

Personal (€9.99) covers your own home and gifts. Any business or space open to the public — a spa, clinic, hotel, office, restaurant — needs the commercial licence (€99.99, one venue, no renewal). The venue guide →

About this work

Closed eyes, a still porcelain face and a crown of white blossoms mixed with golden leaves. Fine cracks run across the skin, and each one is filled with gold, so the seams seem to glow from within rather than break the surface. The mood is soft and feminine, yet there is real strength in that calm expression.

The picture borrows the idea of kintsugi, the Japanese craft of mending broken ceramics with lacquer mixed or dusted with powdered gold. Instead of hiding the damage, the repair makes it visible and turns it into part of the object’s story. The practice is often linked with wabi-sabi, an outlook that finds beauty in imperfection and in the passing of time. Here the same thinking is applied to a face: the cracks are not flaws to conceal but lines of gold that mark what has been lived through.

It sits well in a bedroom, above a vanity or in a salon, and it makes a thoughtful gift for someone who has come through a difficult time. Warm white, blush and soft greige walls let the gold seams come forward. Hang it with The Kintsugi Moon and The Kintsugi Muse, the other two works in the Kintsugi in Gold set. The file prints sharply to roughly 76 cm on the long edge at 300 dpi.
